Showmanship
Anyone can buy a Grand Champion
                   But showmanship must be earned

Showmanship is the one area of showing goats that gives you the greatest control of the results.
In showmanship you are judged on your ability to control your goat and how well you present your goat to bring out its best characteristics, not on how much you were able to spend on buying a goat.
Learning to be a great showman will also teach responsibility and how to reach goals and helps to build character and increase confidence.
Advanced planning, practice and hard work are the keys to becoming a good show person.

                              Appropriate Dress

ALWAYS WEAR A SMILE!   Dress neatly!
1. Wear clean dark colored jeans or slacks and a sleeved white shirt.
Tuck in your shirt and wear a belt. You should be dressed neatly,
 but not overdressed.
2. NO HATS or ball caps in the show ring.
3. Leather boots are preferred for safety & appearance.
4. Proper planning and a neat appearance will make a positive impression on the judge.

                       Show Time in the Ring

Be prompt & courteous!

When your class is called take your goat to the show ring.
Lead your goat from the left hand side into the ring.
As the goats are lined up set your goat up to look its best.
Leave plenty of space between your goat and the others.
Always keep your goat between you and the judge.
Be alert and know where the judge is at all times.
Remain calm and keep SMILING even if your goat misbehaves

                   Showmanship = Sportsmanship

Always be a good sport, a graceful loser and a humble winner.
Be generous with lending a helping hand.
Even in a competition there is always room for working together.
Be sure to say                           to the judge and all the other contestants after all without them there would be no show & remember the show isn’t over until all goats are asked to leave the ring
NOT!
